In an earlier article, I suggested that the term Spirit Releasement can be uncomfortable for those who don’t have a belief in a spirit or a soul. It can cause them to glaze over or suddenly experience temporary ‘deafness’! This is usually the result of their own childhood experience and conditioning by parents and other carers.

I have worked with many clients who were adamant that we are just bodies, and when we die “That’s it”, but who have then gone on to have some surprising experiences during their sessions. How they choose to explain these away is, of course, their choice, but for most, these experiences are life-changing and usually result in a release of emotional and physical pain and discomfort.
I’ve already written about Earthbound Souls and Thought Forms but what about the disclosure of those entities whose declared sole purpose is to bring negativity in the form of anguish and pain to the host?

History has coined many terms for these entities, including evil spirits, dark force entities, demons and malevolent spirits. Traditionally, exorcism has been used (and also abused) in many forms by most religions, and also by witch doctors, shamans and medicine men, to cast out evil spirits. It is thought the practice originated in the Shamanistic beliefs dating back to pre-history. There are also references to exorcism in ancient Jewish scriptures, and of course, there are numerous references to removal of evil spirits in the Bible, including several acts of exorcism by Jesus Christ.

To this day, exorcism is still recognised as a legitimate practice within the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches, and also some Protestant sects. You may be surprised to learn that the Church of England has an official exorcist within each diocese!

This all sounds very dramatic and even scary, especially when you read some of the gruesome accounts of the torture and killing, particularly of young ‘possessed’ children, still being carried out in the name of exorcism.

I have chosen to see that there are many different ways of understanding and explaining these ‘evil spirits’. Based on the principle that we are all part of the same ‘One-ness’ (known by many different names), then how can it possibly be that the One who created all that is, only created Light? We can only know ourselves and know the world within which we live if we can experience both sides of the coin.

How can we recognise happiness and joy if we haven’t experienced sadness and anguish? How can we know the ease and comfort of good health if we haven’t experienced dis-ease and pain? Or good if we haven’t experienced evil? How can we see light if we haven’t been in darkness?

Thus, it seems to me that the same One-ness that created us, also created the duality within which we live, in order for us to have a total experience.

The Judea-Christian story that explains dark force entities goes something like this…

God created Angels as his messengers. Then he created Man and gave him free will. Some of the Angels became jealous as they never possessed free will. As soon as they felt the emotion of jealousy, they adopted free will and thus could no longer be angels, so they ‘fell from grace’ into the darkness.

Now, whether or not you believe this to be true, whenever I am working with a client who spontaneously has the experience of an ‘entity’ that declares itself to be from the ‘dark side’, I use a very simple and effective process in order to help the entity remember where it came from and to persuade it to return to its place in the ‘Light’. With patience and persistence, this is always achieved and the client achieves a huge sense of release, followed by relief. The emotional and physical benefits are frequently astonishing.

For those with a more analytical mind, these ‘entities’ or ‘attachments’ can also be explained as sub-personalities or metaphors created by the subconscious mind as a way of releasing trauma or negative thought patterns. Whether the client believes or not, their willingness to participate in the releasement process nearly always results in positive results.
